Chance the Rapper has won a ruling in his long-running dispute with his former manager, Pat Corcoran. Judge James E. Hanlon Jr. ordered Corcoran to give up "secret profits" and commissions he took from merchandise vendors without the rapper's knowledge.

"His merchandise company took commissions from Bennett's own vendors on Bennett's own orders," Hanlon wrote, adding that "Corcoran was Bennett's agent and fiduciary." The judge denied Chance's request for punitive damages.

The ruling names no exact figure. Chance's representatives say Corcoran will likely have to repay up to $1.5 million. A spokesperson for Corcoran pointed out that the court found "no basis for Chance's claim of more than $10 million in damages."

Corcoran sued in 2020 over an unwritten agreement, and Chance countersued in 2021. Earlier this year, a jury rejected Corcoran's claim that he was owed $3.8 million.
