Da Renegade doesn't hide where he came from. Born in Minneapolis, he describes himself as "a troubled young kid trying to find my place." He says he was first sent to juvenile detention at 13 and had been kicked out of school by 16, and that his teens and mid-20s were caught in a cycle of incarceration.
What broke that cycle, he says, was software programming, which he took up in his mid-20s and credits with eventually making him a millionaire. Music, he says, is now a passion rather than a pursuit of fame or money.
The sound and the look
Now based in Southern California, he makes music about "struggle, ambition, relationships, survival and the determination to build something from nothing," in the words of his press kit. He also designs his own visuals and promotional campaigns. His color-changing Mustang has become part of his image.
He is open about his process: he uses traditional and technology-assisted tools, "including artificial-intelligence tools when they serve the project," while the direction, storytelling and performances remain his own.
The catalog
His 2026 catalog includes the albums Love Aint Soft and To The Top, both released in August, and a run of singles through the fall. His website also hosts Ricochet, a 22-track album, and Thug Too Much, a six-track project offered as a free download.
